Lincoln Beach was an amusement park along the shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Eastern New Orleans near an area known as Little Woods from 1939 through 1965. The land where Lincoln Beach was located was deeded to the city by a wealthy real estate investor and international fruit magnate known as Sam "The Banana Man" Zemurray for the purpose of using it as a permanent beach for the area's African American population. It featured various rides, games, restaurants, lake swimming and frequent live music. Today, you can enjoy wearing a Lincoln Beach design from 1960 on your shirt!
